Maestro (Femkes Footsteps Maestro at Kimmax imp) may be retired from field competitions now but his children have taken up the challenge of keeping his legacy and had great success at the recent GSPA Working Test held on the Stoke Bardolph Estate, in Nottinghamshire on 22nd April 2007.

Ch Freddy Vom Kapellenhof at Bareve (imp Deu), known as �Freddy� won the best dog, beating the 2004 Crufts Best of Breed, Ch Kimmax Kennedy. He then went up against his litter sister for Best of Breed and has just come runner up in the Gundog Group to the flatcoat retriever from Norway, SUCH/NUCH/ Almanza Far & Flyg.

The judging of German Wirehaired Pointers (Drahthaars) has finished and the imported Drahthaars have dominated the top places this year. The judge was Mike Blay and the results were:

I was sent the results of the final consultation document today by DEFRA which, as expected, discusses many of the views of various agencies, but did not seek representation from the dog breed clubs. Despite this, on the face of it the HPR breed lobby has been successful;
