Kira’s son ‘Most Beautiful Dog’ at Hegewald 2007
Posted October 18th, 2007
It was like a dream come true - to have one of our dogs rated ‘Most Beautiful Dog’ at the Hegewald. Tom II V Bockenhagen, owned by Manfred Wolff and handled by Mike Krauskopf was crowned ‘Most Beautiful Dog‘ and our own Timo II V Bockenhagen was only 1 point behind on coat.
The ‘T’ litter was a collaboration with Antonius Kohues as under German rules a litter bred in the UK cannot be entered at the Hegewald. We took Kira (Kira II V Bockenhagen at Kimmax) to Mike Krauskopf in Berlin to mate her to Ero III Del Zeffiro (the first 12/12 rated dog born in Italy). Kira was later sent to Germany to Antonius Kohues to have the litter under the German system and we chose Timo as our pick from the litter.
We knew the ‘T’ litter from our own Kira was good, but it was only when we got to the Hegewald we realised just how consistently good the litter was and how similar all the liver males were with little to separate them.
In all 6 of Kira’s offspring were at the Hegewald and their form/hair ratings said it all - Tom (11/11), Timo (11/10), Tessa (10/11), Tina (10/10) and Toska (9/8) (Tell did not attend Form & Hair).
I also had the chance to see Troll, the other liver male from the litter, who unfortunately did not qualify for the Hegewald, but he is also a superb looking dog.
