Kimmax Kollectable wins GWPC Open Test

Kimmax Kollectable was on top form again, winning the Open class at the GWP Club Working Tests on Saturday 31st March 2007 under the well respected A Panel judge, Murray Wakeham.

Open was a tough competition with 3 of the top 4 dogs from the 2006 HPR Beta Weekend battling it out against some of the newcomers.

Really pleased for Chris and Poppy as she is a daughter of Willow and a natural successor to take over Willow’s incredible record at the Beta Weekend.

Kimmax Kollectable, ‘Poppy’, is owned by Chris and Mandy Frearson and Chris handled her to a commanding lead scoring 85.5pts out of 90. Chris and Poppy only dropped 4.5 pts all day and the next nearest, Lee Loveridge’s GSP Eelyrags Popular, last year’s Beta Weekend winner, was 4.5 points behind them. Paul Dark’s Amber Moss Ruby, who was 3rd in last year’s Beta Weekend, was 3rd.

Joker (Ch Kimmax Just Joking at Kimmax JW ShCM) managed 4th place with a perfect 20/20 for the blind retrieve on the water. Joker demonstrated he is ready take over from his father, Maestro’s, as Maxine’s dog for the Beta weekend.

My young dog, Kasey (Kimmax Kareful Kid), was doing Open for the first time since qualifying and was the youngest dog in Open, 12 months younger than the top dogs. Kasey completed all the tests but struggled to find his second blind retrieve so dropped a lot of marks. He still needs to sharpen up as he will be replacing Willow at this year’s Beta Weekend.

Maxine’s Secret Weapon

Maxine also took her new secret weapon out for the first time …. St. Barney.

A son of her main dog, Maestro, Barney (Kimmax Two’s Kompany) is coming on really well and despite being only 13 months old, he was entered in both Puppy and Novice.

Barney completed all the tests and was just pushed out of the places in Puppy by 1.5 pts ending up 5th out of 10 under judge Sharon Pinkerton.

In Novice, despite dropping 10 marks on his blind, Barney ended up 8th out of 19 dogs, a super performance for his first test under judge Mark Firmin.
