Maxine and I would like to thank everyone who came under us at yesterday’s German Wirehaired Pointer Club Open Show 2009 and Michelle Nuttall for so generously providing the excellent venue to the GWPC.

I judged the main show and Maxine judged the Special Classes. In total we had 48 entries in the main show, 34 entries in the Special Classes – a total of 39 dogs, an excellent turnout for an Open Show, especially in the current economic climate.

Maxine and I were not permitted to watch each others judging so it was it was interesting to note that we both chose the same Open, Puppy Dog and Puppy Bitch winners and only differed in our choice of Post Graduate as my winner had not entered under Maxine. This was especially interesting as we rarely agree on our own dogs.

Best in Show was Trish Campbell’s Hartperry Elfi Dannanoski of Blackcraig (Sh Ch Normbar Valhalle – Innocent Gittle).

Reserve Best in Show and Reserve Best Bitch was Tracy Cartwright’s Tum Tum Tracy VD Josephina’s Hoeve (imp NL) (NL Ch Willem Drieks VD Josephina’s Hoeve – Eva Elan VD Josepphina’s Hoeve).

Best Opposite Sex was Karl O’Connors Sh Ch Karlejay Gump You’ve Got Mail JW (Wassetwire By Eck its Harvey – Sh Ch Amicaro Iowa at Karlejay ShCM).

Best Veteran was Norma Ellis’s Amicaro Cheyenne (Sh Ch Normbar Valhalle – Gavic Dee)

Best Puppy in Show was Barbara Stamp and Michelle Nuthall’s Tynsil Tigre mit Helmstar (Wiggmansburg Geraint Vom Mustwork – Tynsil Tromdela to Mustwork).

Best Puppy Dog was Karl O’Connors Karlejay the Gump Rand (Sh Ch Karlejay Gump Tou’ve Got Mail JW – Briars Echo over Karlejay JW)

Reserve Best Dog was Frank Stubberfield’s Irho III Del Zeffiro (imp ITA) (Sepp V Wulften – Orma II Del Zeffiro)
