The English Law states if the dog is legally docked, it can still be exhibited where the public do not pay an entrance fee. This means we cannot exhibit at Crufts and several of the large Championship Shows, but most of the Championship Shows and almost all Open Shows do not charge admission. Individual countries interpret our rules as they see fit - In Scotland we can exhibit at any show (even though they do not allow docking at all for any breed), in Belgium we cannot compete at all in show or field events with a dog docked after a certain date, in most European countries we can exhibit as we have a working dog exemption in the UK. Ironically our most recent litter had to be docked and tattooed in order for the dogs to be allowed into the German system as Drahthaars. Dogs cannot be registered as Drahthaars, compete at the Hegewald or any VDD organised event unless they are docked. Its a bit of a mess all round .... Hi Trish
