Kimmax is very proud of the International reputation we have established in only 20 years of breeding, working and showing German Wirehaired Pointer and Deutsch Drahthaar. We enjoy recognition around the world for our dedication to the breed and our collaborations with some of the finest kennels in the World. Here are some of our achievements.

We have bred numerous Champions, with 16 titleholders both in the UK and overseas and collectively we have more CC’s, Working Test awards/Field Trial awards than any other UK Kennel, we are the only UK Kennel to compete in Germany, gaining prized VJP and HZP awards. More recently we have returned to Germany to compete with dogs that we have bred ourselves here in the UK, no other UK kennel has achieved such outstanding success. We can also boast a Sled Dog Champion, 5 UK Full Champions (Show Champions with field trial awards) we have 6 UK Field Trial award winners and 4 dogs with a Show Gundog Working Certificate – all of our own breeding.

Kimmax is the only UK kennels to have continuously invested in the breed, in 20 years involvement we have imported 10 European dogs from the worlds most sought after bloodlines, we are the only kennel to have imported Fully Tested Drahthaars that have excelled within the German Breeding/Testing system (VDD) with “perfect” 12 form and hair scores – no other UK kennel has ever shown this level of dedication and commitment to the breed, proving our constant allegiance to the Drahthaar in the UK – we do not own or breed any other breed.We have won Best of Breed at Crufts three times, in 1997, 1999 and 2004 with all the winning dogs owned by friends.

Here are some “first” achievements for Kimmax – achievements that we are very proud of;

• The first and only UK Kennel to ever have successfully competed in Germany in the breed’s most prestigious worldwide field competition for the Deutsch Drahthaar, “The Internationale Hegewald” in 2005, 2006 and 2007
• The first and only UK Kennel to have UK titled and CC winning Drahthaar’s that are also fully qualified under the German system for breeding
• The first and only UK Import to gain a 1st place at a German HZP test
• The first ever GWP import to gain a UK title
• The first and only “qualified” UK and Dutch Champion Drahthaar
• The first and only UK Drahthaar to win a Championship Show Group in Holland and now also in Germany and to be placed in Best in Show
• The first and only UK bred Dutch Champion who was also the first ever UK bred GWP to win a German Bundessieger.
• The first and only UK Kennel to import Fully Qualified DD’s (VJP,HZP,VGP) with perfect form and hair scores
• The youngest Full Champion bitch in the breed
• The first and only UK imported Deutsch Drahthaar to gain CACIB’s in Holland, Germany and also to gain the title of “Bundessieger 08”
• The first kennel to have 5 Full Champion GWP’s all from our own breeding
• The first and only black and white bitch Show Champion.
• The first UK Kennels with a CC winning Deutsch Drahthaar.
• The first and only UK GWP kennel to have won the Pedigree Champion Stakes qualifier.
• The only UK HPR kennel to have achieved 4 top awards at the prestigious Beta Working Gundog Weekend, including winning outright in 2003 and runners up in the two subsequent years.
• The only kennels to have ever won the GWPC HPR Team Tridogathon (dog and gun competition).
• The only UK Kennels to have collectively gained the most CC’s, Field Trial awards and Working test awards in the history of the breed.
• The only UK Kennel to have exported overseas providing 4 title holders for owners abroad.
• Home of the most successful working Dutch Import in the history of the breed.
• First ShCM winner in the breed (now a full champion).
• First and only German Wirehaired Pointer kennels to use and promote full DNA screening for vWD.
